KVK Rayagada
KVK, Rayagada (Gunupur) is situated in North Eastern Ghat Zone, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, a dream Project of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, is mandated for assessment, refinement, training and demonstration of improved technologies to bring social and economic upliftment of farming community of the country, 56% of population of Rayagada are tribes. Some extinguishing tribes viz. Dangaria Kandha, Kuntia Kandha and Lanjia Saura are found only in Rayagada. Cotton, paddy, maize, sunflower and cashewnut are major enterprises in the district. KVK has introduced oil palm, Sweet corn and yambean in the district and since inception from 2005 has been striving hard to achieve the mandates under the aegis of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technologies.
